I was looking at the fsm for the SR and kinda realized something. Wouldn't the torque specs on SR engine FSMs be in Newton meters rather than lbs-ft? Only the U.S. uses lbs-ft so I'm assuming we'd have to convert the torque specs on the fsm to ours.

1 newton meter = 0.737 562 147 28 pound foot1 pound foot = 1.355 817 952 newton meter

If you look in the bottom of each parts blow-up in the manual, you'll notice that there is a printing that says Newton-meter(kilogram-meter, foot-pound) that coincides with the numbers printed on each bolt (which are correct in their conversion. I've ran the numbers)

When you get down to torque sequences, it even says things like: 16-19 N-m (1.6 -1.9 kg-m, 12-14 ft-lb) I think that's pretty damned self explanatory.

Oh, I was looking at the 180sx fsm and it didn't have the other units. I'm looking at the S14 fsm now and I see what you mean.

Yeah, the 180SX manual is made for the Japanese market, so it utilizes kilogram-meters, not newton-meters. N-m is more of an EU thing, hence why it's listed first in the S14 manual (which is an EU manual)
