I have balanced the tires, got new inner and outer tie rods (TEIN), new caster/ tension rods (TEIN), and installed Energy Suspension steering rack bushings.

I still have a shudder in the steering around 45-55mph.

Is it possible I have a bad steering rack?

Or what else is there left to replace? Front lower control arms? Or possibly new struts? :/

if you have bad struts, the car would ride very bouncy. does your car shake when you start it up?

Got an S14, had shake/shudder that would move up and down in speed range. Replaced everything you did except for the inner tie rods. I discovered that my power steering rack was too small on pass side for the bushing to be snug. Oddly enough, the driver's side energy suspension bushing fits fine. As a temp fix I got a 1 1/2 inch pvc pipe coupler that I cut in half and trimmed to fit to make a solid bushing and shudder gone. Now I just have to rebalance tires. Hope that helps.

How about alignment?

I have personally experienced the same problem from the toe being off. Besides, the toe is the biggest tire wear problem.

struts will deff cause a shake from 45 or so till 65 or so and if you have aftermarket wheels make sure you have hubcentric rings

I don't have hubcentric rings. :/

And I definitely have been thinking about getting new struts - are you saying they will cause a shake? I have been noticing a kind of 'thunk' when I go over potholes or rough dips/ transitions, from the drivers front suspension area. I wonder if that's related. I guess struts are next on my list, along with new lca's/ new lca bushings. Is there an aftermarket front lca that you guys would recommend?

And to the guy who asked if I got an alignment or said I need one:

They screwed up the first time and the wheel wasn't centered, so I had to take it back and they fixed it right up.
