I just got my 2-piece welded forged/spun Bogart racing wheels, 16" x 8" + 10 mm offset and I love them so much I couldn't help but share. They look SICK...easily some of the nicest wheels I've ever seen, in person or on the internet. They are incredibly burly--the spokes are 1" thick solid forged aluminum, but they are a reasonable 16.0 pounds.

I only have 2 so far because Rich at Bogart wanted to make sure they fit the front of my s14 first...and they stick out a little bit so he's making the front one's 16" x 8" + 17 offset.

What I love so much about them is that only around 15 sets of these wheels were ever produced (exclusivly for datsun 240z owners, back in 1997), and I was fortunate enough to get them to make me up a set so that they'd fit a 240sx (the wheels they made for 240z's had a -6 mm offset which would never fit w/o fender flaring)...meaning I'll be the only 240sx owner to ever have these wheels, which makes them extra special for me. I love rarity, and am glad I'll never see these adorning any other import

The brilliant shine on these things are amazing....see for yourself (even though the pictures don't do them justice).

I'll have pictures of the wheels with tires installed and on my car around thanksgiving...I'm planning on running a 205/55/16 tire up front (a bit stretched for an 8" rim, but Dunlop SP Sport 8000E's, according to tire rack, fit up to an 8" rim), and a 245/45/16 tire out back (a bit on the opposite extreme of the tire spectrum, but I want some nice fat tires out back). They should be completely flush...and I am pretty obsessed with flushness

Anyway, just thought I'd share.

I wish I could fit a cell phone in the lip of my wheels, mine could maybe fit a postcard.

Those are SOOOO hot!

Although I'd SERIOUSLY consider a 225 front, as you'll like having a little exxtra "rim protection" with such exclusive rims.

(Plus, the whole "Tijuana Stretch" is SO played out.)

I wish I could say I were stretching the tire merely for looks...The reason i want to run a 205 is because a 225 will probably rub and stick out too much. The ONLY reason I want to run a 205 is to prevent this from happening...I may consider a 215 though...it's only 10 mm wider than a 205, which is only 5 mm more on each side...

shush you.

stretched tires has a ton of benefits, you need to adapt to the times there homeboy.

stretched tires allows me more stability during cornering and drifting, breaking tires loose still even with a huge wheel, allows me to lower my car more while still maintaining a wider track without hitting the fender.

stretched tires are great.

I'm not so sure I want to let you in on that secret...lol.

But they're more or less a one-off job. The wheels were originally sold by Complete Custom Wheel (CCW), but apparently they had Bogart Racing actually manufacture some of the wheels...they were made for datsun 240z's (about 10-15 sets) for a very limited time back in 1997. It was luck that I happened upon a post about these wheels on CCW...and I called Bogart Racing and persuaded them to make me up another set, because apparently they had a set of the forged centers lying around...

They're pretty expensive...$1100 for just the rims w/o shipping, no center caps (I'll eventually get them, but I think they were like $80 more so I'd rather use that money to buy a tire). But, compared to the mass-produced wheels that still cost almost as much: a) they're completely custom, not mass-produced, b) they have SPUN shells c) they are two-piece-welded d) they are forged e) they are absolutely top-notch quality and EXTREMELY strong...relatively lightweight at 16 lbs for a 16" x 8".

They won't fit anything but an s14 and even with an s14 the rim is already flush with the fender w/o tires on it...not sure if they will clear Z-brakes either because the spokes are so incredibly thick and beefy, but the moutning hub is shaped like a mushroom for brake caliper clerance (these are racing wheels), so they may...

Regarding the tire size, I'm not planning on drifting the car ever, the only reason I'd want to 'stretch' a 205 tire is so they won't rub in the front...and I'm reasonably sure I found a 205 tire that says it can handle up to an 8" rim.

A 225 tire on an 8" rim will not protect the lip...my brother has brand new 225/40/17 khumo ecstas on 17" x 8" OZ Superleggera's (beautiful wheels) and the tires to do not protrude past the edge of the rim...they're *almost* flush, but to me it still seems like the rim sticks out more than the tire...

Anyway, i can't wait to finally get these on my car...but I don't come home from school again until November...so look for a lot of pics around then

Yes, it's the offset...by the design of the wheels I'm running the most possible backspace (4 7/8", IIRC), which is about +10 mm offset. On my S14 the rims, without tires sit completely flush with the rear fenders (check out the pics in the suspension section of the forums), and the fronts with the same offset stick out noticeably from the fender...I had them remedy this by shaving the mounting hub 1/4", but as it is I'll probably be forced to run a 205 in front just so the tire wont hit the fender well when the suspension travels...so they definitely wouldn't fit the s13 w/o some definite fender rolling and/or flaring
