I'm a man of my word, and as promised, here are some pictures of those Bogart 16" x 8" 2 piece forged rims that I showed without tires a while ago, the same rims I tried getting other people to buy so they'd start manufacturing more sets of them. Well these are the last sets they'll have ever made, and the ONLY set that will fit an S14 w/o fender pulling/fender rolling. Only 15 sets of these wheels were ever made for 240zs, and they had a far too low offset to fit any 240s. So basically you'll never see these wheels on any other car

The wheels cost me $1100, the tires were another $500...everything shipped/installed costed me $1700 (!!!!!) I added it up and I have $3500 into wheels/suspension work alone....I'm completely broke until I sell my other wheelset...

The wheels fit COMPLETELY flush on my S14. They look (to me) extremely nasty, like they belong on a Porsche or [insert other high-end sports car].

Rear tires are Yokohama AVS Sports, 245/45/16 (Z-rated). Front tires are Kumho Ecsta MXs, 225/50/16, Z-rated, identical traction and temperature/treadware specs as the yokos (treadware 200, traction AA, temperature A).

I haven't had a chance to actually take the car out for a ride because it's been raining here and my car is clean, but the grip should be phenomenal.

Also, I'm curious to see how much clearance is required to fit 300zx brakes...because the spoke design of these wheels is such that there's at least 1/2" clearance between the caliper and the back of the spoke, and if I threw a 6mm spacer on there, it'd have 3/4" of clearance...and plenty of room for a larger diameter rotor.

Anyway, onto the pictures!

The thing I like about the wheelset is that it makes the car look so bad-***, 100% business, with wide tires and a staggered setup, like all sports-cars should have.

Wow,

There's definately some "I'm gonna slap your mom and laugh" feel coming from that setup. I don't think I'm man (or rich) enough to run staggered tire sizes because of the wear/cost/replace issue.

If the wheels were $1100 and the tires were $500, what did you spend the other $900 on? Surely not shipping and mounting!

Fronts are 16" x 8" +16mm offset, rears are 16" x 8" +10 mm offset.

The $2700 I was referring to (which I didn't mention) included the $1167 KTS coilovers...I bought them fairly recently too...but once I got them I realized the only limiting factor standing between world-class handling was the tires, and I always wanted wider tires. Plus, i wanted to go with a bit bigger of a wheel to gain some ground clearance and decrease ugly fender gap.

Thanks for the compliments

They look really nice. Do you like your kts coilovers. Alotta people have said that for the price they like them better than the Tein he. Anyway, how heavy are the wheels?

LOL. They're 4-lug my friend, one set of wheels the 5-luggers can't get their hand on (nor anyone else for that matter)

I love the KTS coilovers...they're pretty damn stiff I think, but not too uncompromising for riding around town...but the roads around me are really bumpy and not smooth at all. They've completely eliminated body roll and are extremely adjustable and are of superlative quality. I know SPL parts had a shock dyno proving that these were better than the Tein HE's and I don't doubt it. The inverted shock design is superior anyway.

The rims weigh 16.0 lbs...pretty respectable for a 2-piece 16" x 8" wheel. They are the burliest looking rims i've ever seen. The spokes are so thick, and everything is machined to perfection. You can't see from the pics but they are extremely well made and VERY strong, as they should be from a company that makes only racing wheels.

:O those are 4 lug!!!!! SHARE THE COMPANY!!!

Every 16x8" had horrible offset. How the heck did you find such a low offset rim?

Sweet!. I commend you for "keeping it real and old school, dawg.." I guess thats the right terminology...You got it right, stay 4 lugs, very unique wheels, very agressive stance, nice offset and size 16. Perfect size for any 240, ......same route I took...

It's a very long (and expensive) story

I originally saw similar wheels on an old Datsun 240z when I was looking to trade my 3 piece work Ewings for...the guy with these wheels ended up not wanting to trade, and despite begging him to sell me his wheels, he refused.

He told me the wheels were produced by CCW (complete custom wheel), a company in Florida that now only makes extremely expensive, large, and top-end wheels for cars like corvettes, porsches, etc. Anyway, only 10-15 sets of these were ever produced, and they were produced strictly for Datsun 240z's back in 1997. I really wanted to get my hands on a set of them so I called CCW to see if they had a set leftover from the last time they sold them...they only had 2 wheels left, but he directed me to Rich at Bogart Racing Wheels, who apparently actually produced the wheels. I found out that these wheels, as they were made for the 240z, had a -6 mm offset, whereas I thought originally that they had a +6 mm offset. That meant that none of the 240z wheels, even if I could get my hands on a set, would fit my 240sx. So I called Rich and pretty much pleaded with him to make up another set for me, and he luckily had some leftover forged centers lying around from when he produced the wheels for the 240z's back in '97.

He was able to make me up a set through a lot of hunting down of materials that had a 4 7/8" backspace (+10 mm offset) so they'd fit my 240sx without rubbing/fender pulling/rolling. However, 4 7/8" backspace was the MAX he could use due to the design of the wheels, which would be perfect for the rears but not for the front. So he shaved 1/4" off the center mounting hub of the fronts to increase the backspace to 5 1/8" (+16 mm offset) so they'd fit on the front of othe S14. Rich had a very hard time hunting down the spun aluminum shells that'd work with these centers, because apparently the new line of shells that they use allow a MAX backspace of around 4.5", which is around 0 offset. He was finally able to source the shells though and was able to make up the full set for me, all to my specifications.

Basically, it means these wheels can't be replicated (sorry!), and I was lucky enough to get my hands on a set of them.

I'm glad everyone else likes them as much as I do

Will old Z rims fit our car? I wouldn't mind if the offset and width was good

Not sure about all old Z's but I know for a fact that 240z's have a 4 x 4.5 lug pattern (4 x 114.3). They came with 14" wheels OEM, IIRC..and the offsets are usually low but so are the widths of the wheels.

Yes old Z rims will work. You have to use the special Z lugnut to run them.

here is a pic of my friends old 280ZX rims on the rear of my 240.

yeah, they're CCW wheels. as best i can tell, they don't make those sizes anymore....maybe by special order they would though....hm.....pricing (iirc) starts at $1800 and everything on their site (www.ccwwheels.com) is like 19" and up for street wheels, not sure about the track ones though....they make drag wheels too, for anyone interested. from what i've seen and been told, they're superb quality and finish, and no one i know of (numerous people in the south run them for autoX wheels) has every broken/bent a wheel, so 1. they don't daily drive w/ them, or 2. they're as strongas they are pimp!!!

btw, MORE PICS!!!
