I've been getting some estimates on some rust work around my wheels (rather depressing), and one body shop said that the flares contribute to the rust not only by trapping salt and what not, but also by rubbing against the paint in normal driving.

So, whats a 96-99 PF look like with NO FLARES?

I traded them off a while back. I only had 3 because one was ripped off & it broke the little plastic brackets on the flares them selves. Why?

The OEM flares require holes in the fenders & little brackets in there.

1 of them was ripped off & the other 3 I popped/ripped off myself (I planned & still plan on cutting the hell of my fenders so the little wholes left behind don't bother me)

yeah I thought about it myself but didn't want to damage the flares them selves. I kind of want to be able to put them back on IF I choose to sell. any ideas on how i can do that??

on the qx4 i think you just unscrew all the phillips screws from underneath, and then pull. mine kinda got ripped out. the holes in the fenders are just little nipples that pop right out.

First off good info and LMAO for those consecutive posts here it isit didn't take me very long and the fronts look alright but the rear looks funny so tomarrow I'm going to cut the excess plastic s*** off!

Fueler have you ever pulled the door panel plastic off before? or has anyone done this and have ideas on how to get those off?

You're on your own on that one big guy. I didn't have those so I was able to just put some Herculiner on that area & be done with it.

oh man if i were you i'd slap those fender flares right back on. But wash the truck before you do it. that looks terrible! look how the bumpers stick out front and back.

But i am lookin at how much tire/fender clearance u got and DAYUM

is your QX4 lifted on a jack in this photo??? or sitting on the ground?

Nope its on the ground w/ 2" lift and 28lbs air in the tires

tomarrow I'm going to start trimming out that extra baggage off the bumpers to square it up a bit. I'll spray it off and send more pics when done

I might just rip the b****es off and replace w/ some steel ones off another pathy

a qx4 without flares wont look right because the bumper matches up with the flares.
