Bah, if it's REALLY important people can just e-mail each other, other than that communication should be kept to the boards, or AIM between friends :)

Fred has explained on many occasions that not having PM's allows for information that would otherwise be concealed between two people can be shared with a much larger audience.

The idea is to post good info, that can help your buddy who you'd just as soon PM, and also help/inform many other members and visitors.

Many of our present threads are filled with "I'm bored so I thought I'd post" and also back-to-back postings between two members. In essence, you talk like you're PM-ing anyways. AIM has always been available as long as I've been here.. and it works just fine..

I voted NO b/c I don't think we need the use of PMs. If you notice in almost everyone's profile they either have email usage or a messanger usage. IMO, we do "PM" people, its called AIM (or any other form of messanger/email you use to communicate off the boards).

I don't see a need for it here. All good information that can help you or your buddy should be considered posted up for future reference to others. Just my .02cents. :)

eh, no need. I like everyone sharing every little thing. A lot of boards with PM's you will see a question asked and never get an answer because it will be answered through a PM and that's no good.
