http://www.nytimes.com/2008/10...evens- ... ---------I think he should as he is a disgrace to the Republican party.

Just wondering if anyone out there can defend his obtaining billions of pork spending for Alaska when much of that money could have been better spent on our crumbling infrastructure all over the lower 48 states.

He failed to disclose receiving over $250k in gifts and services.

Hopefully this will lead to another Senate Democratic seat?

Should he resign? Nah, let the Alaskan people boot his ***. I listened to the cross examination on NPR during the trial. Boy the corruption charges are pretty heinous. He didn't fill out the proper forms on gifts.. Wow. He had a statue out front of his house that was donated for his Library. "Where is your library located?" "I dont have one yet, it is in the process of being built, so I guess it would be located at my home." "You have a chair that you claim wasn't gift donated to you, yet it is located in your office, how is that not a gift." "I told the owner of the chair I couldn't accept it as a gift." "Yet you didn't return the chair." "I told him that I was going to borrow it and return it later." Boy the Government's case is really strong.

Now Bob Ney, Mark Foley and Larry Craig, those guys are jokes to the Republican Party.

Exactly.

Amazing how such trivialities become looming catastrophies through the eyes of the lefty.

While he's a doof, he's relatively harmless. Which is MUCH more than I can say for some of the baggage BO is gonna haul up to the Hill.

No, you don't want him to resign. If he runs, it's a surefire free Senate seat for the Democrats. He won't get his seat regardless, but if he resigns another Republican surely will. If he runs, he's gone AND we get one more Democratic Senator.*

Any and all Republicans should want him to resign, as almost ANY other Republican could win the seat.

McCain told him to resign for just that reason. Wasn't Palin a vocal supporter of the guy until he got found guilty?

*I'm presenting an additional Democratic Senator here like it's automatically a good thing, but I don't actually want to see them get 60 seats, so maybe it isn't a good thing. I guess it's a good thing for the Democrats.

He might as well resign. But its cheaper for the state (cost of a special election) if he just waits to get kicked out of office.

Free gifts (Stevens), special mortgages (Dodd), and even sexual favors (Frank). Our government is a wreck. Both parties are full of fraudulent scum.

Serious question: In most states, prisoners arent allowed for vote and in some states, even ex-cons cant vote. But can a person convicted of a felony hold office?? Obviously, not while incarcerated, but can felon serve before sentencing or after release??

Also, I see no reason to say he's a disgrace to the Republican party. All politicians/criminals are a blemish on our gov't and society, not just their respective parties...
