I was checking my oil today and noticed a gap where (I guess is a metal gasket) doesn't go to the edge of the engine. Its right behind the oil dipstick below the intake.I'm not sure if dirt or water gets in there if it will cause a problem or if underneath the metal the hole doesnt go anywhere.I stuck a piece of wire in there and it seams like it doesnt go down that far and there wasnt any oil or anything on the wire when I pulled it out.

I'm not sure but if your under warranty it wouldn't hurt to take it to the dealer. :D

Yeah I'm going to take it to the dealer and see what they say. I've been looking around and found out it is the head gasket. I saw another pic of a engine and from what I could see it looked the same way.

So I dont think the hole under that part goes into the engine.

it's fine... nothing to worry about. Most manufactures have this type of thing. very common. The important thing is that it is running well and not leaking.

You should defenetly worry, since its pretty clear you dont have a clue about engines... Sticking wires in there, wht is wrong with you?

I was sticking a wire in there that I had laying around, it wasn't a live wire or anything.. I needed something thin enough to slide in there to see if it was just a cavity that doesnt go anywhere or if it went into the lower end of the engine. I rather stick a wire in there and see rather then wait for water to get in there and really damage something,if it did go into the lower end. And for your information I dont know much about this engine but knew enough on my other cars to do most of the work needed myself. Also nothing is wrong with me. It's pretty clear you like to assume things.
