Ok so I wanted to share a few crappy pics of this s13 I want to get. Its a 5spd, and has some ser wheels on it. It has a few issues though. One is the inevitable rail rust. Ive searched and found that this is fixable just takes some work. So im not to concerned with that, although I have yet to see the car in person as its a hour and a half away. So hopefully its not any worse than what dude said. Next is the speedo works when it wants? Any idea on what to look for the cause of that? Im hoping to go look at it this Saturday and if all is not to bad...bring her home. These pics deff suck but the dudes supposed to send me some better ones tomorrow. Oh and it might need a transmission. Other than that from what i know it needs plugs, wires, thermostat, and something for the exhaust....What do you guys think?? He doesnt want much for it...but im gonna trade him something for it anyway...btw thats not me in the pictures

I think what he means is make sure that there are not any hidden gremlins. Correct me if I am incorrect though Pento. And just how bad is the rust?? Definitely test drive, etc. if you have not already done so. Good luck man.

I mean that make sure everything is there. Like hoses, cables and little things. So it doesn't leave you in the middle of your trip or messed up the engine.

The more I consider it, I agree, especially if no cash is involved in the deal. Rust can be fixed, but just test drive it and keep an eye out for the gremlins...they are sneaky little bastards .

Well after seeing that first picture and hearing about the price... i would say it seems a bit sketchy.

He looks like a h0m0 failing at a fast n furious pose in front of his piece of s*** 240sx. Its probably a 89-90 being that it has a chuki front bumper, unless the kid smashed into something on his way to the tokyo drift meet.

$450 is a really good price, as for worrying about the motor... dude, its a single slam. They arent garbage, but they aren't anything to really much worry about.

I would have to say put it up on a jack and look underneath. Get in there with a screwdriver too, poke away at the bottom of the car just to make sure its fine. If it isnt, f*** it... its $450 for a running car. Have fun, be safe.

yea it does seem skechy but ima check it out first. as for the motor...i know its a sohc...not that i care. its a 89 btw and the front bumber has been changed.....i will do my best when i go...to bad its not soon enough...

Unless your a skilled welder/body shop guy, dont buy this car. The guy who owns it looks like an idiot--the paint is crap, it looks like he rattle canned HALF of it and stopped due to laziness.-he has a huge gauge that looks like a giant tach which is stupid-hes leaning on the car, which to me means he doesnt give a crap about it-and those floorboards are FU*KED!!!

Unless hell take $100 dont waste your money unless is for parts, sorry to tell you man,

Thats not really much worth anything but parts.Maybe work for a field hopper.Since you won't disclose what you are trading for, what value you have in what the trade involves is no more than $200, do it for parts.

so should i trade or no? my brother can easily fix any bodywork. and we could also fix the rust on the floorboard. my gf's dad is a home mechanic...always fixing peoples cars. we got a olds in the driveway we're bout to put a engine in. my brother used to work for a chevy dealership doing body work...so he knows what hes doing. hes doing the body work for my gf's dads old camaro aswell.

but as of right now...dudes saying the car dont run. he thinks it needs a new fuel filter. he said he dont think its gettin fuel to the engine. he said it ran 4-5 days ago fine. then something happened and the car just died...and the spark plug wires or something caught fire?? idk im confused as to what he saying...he talks fast and its hard to understand him. i could always swap another motor and transmission into the chassis...but idk if i should waste my time....although i have all the time in the world...and am about to be gettin a small settlement. wich would help me fix the car....any more opinions???

Tell him it has WAY to much rust and you'll pay scrap price. (200 bucks btw) If he still says no walk away, he'll call back when he can't sell it. Trust me.

The Floors can be fixed, I did it in my other one, frames can be fixed, etc. It just matters who you know. From what you said your good to go.

Even if you get it for $100 your gonna put so much into it. Just keep looking my friend, let someone who has the resources or the boredom to come along n try.

I spent almost a year looking for my S13 before I had the cash & found a decent one, itll happen just keep looking and have friends keep an eye out as well!

thanks for the word!!! so ive changed my mind and decided i dont want it. but i have another kid with a 93 coupe thats been holding the car for me for a couple months...as im gettin a settlement in the next few weeks. i told him id give him 2k for holding it for me. he told me 1500 a few weeks after talking with him, that his mom jus wants it out the driveway. so now im jus waiting on this check to come. he just txt me to verify i still wanted it. right after i got off the phone with the other loser. here are some pics...what do you think of this one.? only bad is its automatic, and said that its not running either....but its deff in a hell of a lot better condition. that stupid hood scoop s*** will come off too lol....so this is the one im going to get!!! i was just trying to get a hatch cause i like them better and dude was willing to trade but f that s***. im not trading my laptop for that piece. the only thing worthy were those sEr rims...

true..wich is by the time i get my money in a few weeks...they will want it gone so bad ...i will be able to talk em down to 1200 or less...

my plan for this one...if i get it. would be a kouki front end conversion, nice staggered rims, prolly ka-t, some nice coilovers, exhaust either custom or not..no ebay s*** lol, and 5spd swap to start.

If it was running..maybe $1500 MAYBE. Whats wrong with it? If he doesnt know then take a look but do not buy it unless its simple and RUST FREE. For $1500 not running then you should get a S13 with zero rust and everything else clean plus extra goodies.

I would offer him $800 and work with him, if his mom is trying to get him to get rid of it then hell settle for a little over $1k which I could see it beeing worth that if its clean--> plus he held it for you
