should I use a walbro 255lph fuel pump with my set up?

rite now my set up is stock injectors, 8:1 fmu, timing at 14 degrees, and a walbro 255lph fuel pump. I will be running 6lbs of boost.

people tell me with my fuel set up as it is rite now i will be running very ritch, so if i take out the walbro fuel pump, and run a stock fuel pump would this be a good idea to help not run as ritch? or will this cause me to detonate?

I hate FMU's...8:1 for 6 psi of boost seems so overkill. As does 14 deg btdc timing.

The only way a walbro fuel pump would cause you to run richer is if your stock fuel pump was maxing out and couldn't keep up with the rest of your fuel system and was so restrictive that it was causing you to run lean (which I doubt will happen). For 6 psi I say keep your stock fuel pump. I was fine with my stock (s14) fuel pump all the way up to 9 psi

considering 6psi positive boost is about 9psi over the 3psi vac you normally use in a N/A situation (i think 3 or so), then your fuel pump is going to be needing to flow more than 70% more fuel to run proper AFRs compared to ambiant air pressure at sea level.

I hope your pump is in excellent condition. RUN THE WALBRO! Make sure your FPR is working which it should be anyways.
