Should i trade my 1995 240 sx with an sr20det with gt2871 in it for a 1990 300zx. It twin turbo and upgraded to forced performance stage 1 turbos???? ive searched and couldnt find what the are. Its got an exhaust and pretty much a full rebuild engine with 118000 miles on it. Just trade titles strait up. My body has a couple of dents and door dings. I drove it and it felt like a turd. Its only on 8lbs of boost. any one wanna shien some light on this car. its got a full exhaust and stock intercooleers

they run 9 psi stock. they have a lot of potential...shouldn't feel like a turd....mine doesn't feel like a turd and it probably has less than 50 hp more than a stock one. that's all the light i got to shine, my man.

well im assuming your 240 is running at about 250 crank hp, as for the z im not sure what you mean by it runs like a turd, but a stock tt z32 is still 50 crank hp over your sr swapped 240. but the vg engine has way more potential than the sr as far as power goes. it all depends on what you want out of the car. now ive never heard of force performance turbos, sounds like the old owner had foul turbos and just replaced them with cheap replacements or something, that could be the reason that it "runs like a turd"

what's your car worth? whats his car worth? a 100k mile TT can be anywhere from 5-10k thats a pretty broad range, but with such a limited description who knows, and a swaped s14 is what 5k?

if the 240 has the proper supporting mods for that turbo it will hit 300 to the wheels easy at 18psi. i would say if the stock z went against his 240 in a straight line the 240 would easily win with his set up. in my eyes i would sell your 240 and buy a z and with the left over money dump into the z. oh ya and if the car feels like a turd i wouldnt trade anything for it. except maybee another turd. just my $0.02.

If he gives you some money I say go for it.

First the Z should be running more boost even stock so there's a problem. A very good condition 118K TT is 7-10K. With problems, calculate the difference.

Your swapped 290hp Zenki s14 is probably worth 7-10 grand realistically if very clean. They sell for that price range on a regular basis. I have seen them sell for much less, sometimes a little more.

So figure what you want and negotiate from there.

I've seen sr swapped zenki's sell for 5K. Remember that there's a huge variation in price depending on the car, the location, the condition, etc. Also keep in mind that kouki s14's sell for much much more than zenki s14's. You can get a nicely built swapped zenki s14 for less than you can often find a very clean stock kouki s14.

I've seens wapped s13's in the 3k range figured the s14 was worht a coupla k more, in the long run the Z will hold the value much better, these swap motors are becoming more common and cheaper, and the chassis continue to age and pile on the miles
