Post

I have been reading posts, forums, manuals, google stuff, and all articles on the internet for 2 weeks now and nothing seems to work. I need someone to explain to me what is going on.

Situation is a mix of what i see other ppl have, my passenger side window's auto up/down does not work. Also, when i ipen the door, window gos down a lot more than it should (about 3inches), and then it does no go back up when i shut the door.

I tried taking apart the door and resetting the motor procedure.
i tried the resetting switch procedures, the 3 seconds, the 5 sdconds and allthe seconds ones and yes, the 5 second one makes window not work for abput 10 seconds.

Nothing has fixed either problem, so im trying to figure out what does what. Meaning, who is responsible for the auto function, the switch that i touch on the door or the motor inside the door? Who is responsible for lowering and bringing back up the window whem door is opened/closed? I saw somewhere that there is an extra sensor somewhere in the door? Where is it and what is its responsibility?

I am very savy mechanic and i am a computer eng, so i can fix all three parts, but would like to know what they r suposed to do, otherwise i wont kno what i am fixing.

Any and all help is apreciate it! Im desperate!

Thank you.

The auto up down I suspect is the switch itself. I cant speak for the Z33 but earlier car with auto down feature simply employed a diode integrated into the switch, unless they moved that function to the BCM i'd say it's likely the switch, could be the contacts or maybe just the diodes. As for the open close bits I'd have to dig into the fsm.

Have you checked our 350Z service manual?

i just solved the problem today on my 350z driver side door. i had an issue very similar to this. i pulled off my door panel and noticed that i wasn't the first person to actually pull off the door panel so im assuming the owner before me had pulled it off as well and he didn't know what he was doing.. make sure your window is set in the correct place. you should be able to access all three bolts without pulling off the big metal piece covering the the window motor, tracks, and window itself.. i loosened the bolts and moved the window around and rolled it up and down until it was were i liked it then. i did the window reset. the problem is the auto-pinching feature that they have on the 350z and it just needs to be reset. i followed this exact procedure and it worked perfect for me. here is the site : http://www.windscreenblog.service8.com. ... esets.html
