**AHEM*** HELL NO!! 12K or less original miles? That might be closer to the truth. But honestly, for that money, you could very well get at least a zenki S14 with similar mileage for that kinda bread...

If you can talk the dealer down to $5k that would be more realistic. The local Subaru dealership a couple of years ago had a recently traded in white fastback that had 59k on the odo. It was sold within days, they were asking $5800 or so. So what they are asking for is kind of high. Also, what model is it? Is it a SE, LE, base model, hicas? Those will factor in the price. Too bad the car is too young to have the timing chain rattle sound, because you could freak out the sales person with your KA knowledge and tell him the engine needs major work (which would be a lie, but they don't have to know that).

low mileage s13s give a lot of trouble since they sat more than they were driven

I would ask the owner if they could lay down behind the car and I would back over them a few times before I bought that thing for 6 grand...

For that money you can buy well-swapped S13's..

yeah that's another factor worth considering, hoses, belts, etc are probaly just rotting away from the car just sitting (even if it was garaged). The s13 i picked up last month has only 98k but it already shows signs that it wasn't driven that much, the belts on it looked original (and frayed) and some plastic pieces have shown their age.

I paid $2800 for my 91 fastback auto with 108k miles. I wouldn't pay 6500 for a S13 unless it was modded. If I were you, I'd try to find one for about 2k then spend your remaining cash on an engine build, suspension, or engine swap. I spent my remaining cash on suspension and exhaust, and I couldn't be happier with my results so far. Next on my list is 5 speed conversion. I found myself a transmission, now I just to find the other parts.

I bought my 93 s13 for $250 recently. blown engine. if i had 6k to spend on my s13. imaging a beast will become.

also, I have a s14 zenki i picked up a little over a year a go. 95 se model, 140 miles. fully loaded except lsd and abs. for 4k. forget to mention the condition is great.

6K, you could buy a sr swapped s13.

I bought my white 93 fastback auto for $2500 with 73,000 miles on it. I was lookin for a 5spd, but with the shape of the body, I couldn't turn this one down.

$1700 S13 92k miles. Six G's, Yikes. I second it, haggle that sucker down. Kelly Blue Book says 3,190 at BEST, fully loaded. (I plugged in a Fastback SE)
