Should I stop now, where is my limit?

I don't often post on forums, but I live in Minnesota and can rarely find anyone to trust (information wise).

I recently tuned my car at 18 psi (give or take) for 400 whp at 7000 rpms with A/F around 11.6-11.8

I haven't built the bottom end of my motor (stock rods, crank, and pistons). Yesterday I pushed my car to 23 psi (while messing with the boost controller) and revved to 7500 rpm. I was scared at first, but I showed no knock or over heating of any sort (egt, coolant). I want to know where the breaking limits are on this engine. I don't want to blow it up yet, but I would like to put down 475 whp (I know I can hit it, but how long can it last) and run 11's by the end of this year.

My mods are as followed.

top speed intake manifoldHKS step 2 264 ex. and in. camsHKS adjustable cam gearsHKS 2.0mm headgasket (yes I know it's thick)HKS valve springsported and polished headPrecision Turbo SC-61ssautochrome top mount tubular manifold, modifiedTial 38mm wastegateGreddy front mount intercoolerUnorthodox Racing crank pulleyApexi N1 exhaustcustom 3 inch down pipe and test pipeNismo 740cc injectorsRedline Tuning ECUApexi SAFC 2Nissan Z32 mafs

When/If I tune for 450-475 whp where should I target my A/F ratios? Does anyone else here have similar power levels that have been running for awhile? What is my limit (whp wise)?

I typically drive at 14-15 psi so I wouldn't be hammering on my car all the time. I would probably boost it hard once a month at the track (drags).

Please help me out!

never stop! you need to break the 1000whp mark.

D1 guy, I don't know if you are being sarcastic or encouraging, but I really don't need those type of comments in this thread, my car even with built internals and fuel management will run out of steam around 525-545 whp with the turbo I have. I want to know where my A/F should be at in the 450-475 whp range and who else has accomplished these power goals with positive or negative results. Any comments pertaining to the questions I listed in this post or my other post (above) would be much appreciated.

You could try to push it every once in a while but if one day it pops you'll know why. Enjuku made 500hp with stock bottom end but I dont know how long it lasted or if its still running. I think they even did a stock rebuild on that motor. I wouldn't push 500 on my stock bottom end unless I had a spare block to go with it but that's my opinion. Just keeping an eye on things and maybe a retune to that horsepower mark would help.

D1, Im sorry if I came off a little edgy. I'm going to be building a stroker within a year and go for the huge numbers in late 2006 or the summer of 2007. I'm pretty sure I can make 700 whp with a stroked bottom end and different fuel/turbo setup, but I think thats probably the max.

912, thats the answer I needed. I'll most likely tune for 450 whp and not go past that mark.

Does anyone know where your A/F should be at that level of stress on the engine, maybe slightly richer (11.0-11.2). Please advise.

I didnt take it personally.....I know how big of a pain engines.... cars for that mater...can be. I just try to keep an open mind and always have big goals. Mistakes are more likely to happen when you get angry or frustrated. Thats good news about your power goals. Keep us all posted on the progress.

I would run it fat to keep the rods happy.

Even at 450whp I don't know how long the rods will sustain that level of compression load. They won't hold very much of any level of detonation seeing those amounts of cylinder pressures constantly.

I personally would build the motor, but I always like to play it safe.
