We had to have it towed to a local repair shop because the accelerator was acting up out of the blue. When they ran codes, P17F0 CVT Judder and P0841 codes came up. They quoted me $6500 to replace.

I had it towed to a local transmission repair shop I trust. He said the codes were cleared and he drove almost a full tank of gas over weekend and found no transmission issues with it.

It only has 78k miles which I know is irrelevant for Rogue with CVT. I'm just afraid if I keep, it will go out eventually. What sucks is that we bought 2 years ago when their cost was the most and to sell now would probably be almost $10k less than what we paid for it and we probably haven't put 20k miles on it.

Thoughts?

The P17F0 will only be invisible, not cleared. The judder codes (P17F0/P17F1) don't turn on the MIL but can only be cleared by reprogramming the TCM. P0841 shows up frequently along with P17F0 and is a byproduct of the belt slippage. If you trust the transmission guy, pay him an hour to drop the valve body and inspect the belt for damage with a borescope. If he isn't familiar with the procedure, refer him to the bulletin below. It will get fresh fluid in the process, but if there's even slight damage to the belt or pulleys, sell it. If there's none, the code probably resulted from worn out fluid and you may get a lot more miles out of it if you keep it fresh.

OP, update us if you had your transmission guy checked the belt.
