Should I reset ECU after installing Z-tube and K&N? The process looks touchy, and since the CEL is not on, I won't know if it worked...Is it really necessary?

I have heard that the ecu has multiple maps in it, and depending on the way you drive it switches between the 3. Is this correct, and how do I make sure that when I need the performance map I get it?

Look at the last ECU procedure in that thread.

I did this. After driving normal conditions, will it change back on it's own to a slower, calmer less aggressive driving style?

I don't think anybody on here really knows.

Jacko has all of this "info" on it, but we haven't figured out his source yet.

I'm getting better performance and worse fuel economy since I did the reset

I read a Japanese article that ECU for Skyline(not sure V35 or V36) indeed does have learning mode. However, it is not what Jacko claims to be. It is for AT, and it depends on transmission, it learns drivers' driving style and change its pattern. Not the actual ECU.

I have heard that an actual ECU now days have the learning mode, but that is to adjust slight difference in A/F, octane, and so on. So if Jacko can provide his source on Skyline's super ECU, I would love to learn more about it.
