Back again with a new adventure!

Vehicle: 1997 I30
185k miles
Idle is too low in gear with warm engine

The long story: Saturday night I finally got around to cleaning the IACV. My process consisted of dismounting the unit, taking out the three screws on the inside to remove the shield and the two on the outside to remove the motor. Then use the throttle body cleaner on a paper towel to scrub everything down (everything was coated in the grime). I removed the two solenoids and hand cleaned them (one was beyond dirty and the other shiny clean). I shined everything up and tightly reassembled the whole thing and put it back in place.

Based on the advice I've been given on the importance of cleaning the IACV, I somewhat expected a night and day difference.

I am now disappointed. vehicle idles a tiny bit higher now: 550 rpm vs the 490-500 it was averaging before.

So the question: did a miss a step with some kind of computer "Idle relearn" hoops I should have jumped through? Am I due to replace the whole IACV due to age and mileage?

did you try turning the green screw (for the air control) to the left on the IICV to let air in?
Also there is a metal gasket on it

I am considering replacing mine as it is very old (250K miles). It doesn't see to adjust quickly
to driving changes -like coming from coasting to a complete stop-either too high or low

I didn't touch any of the physical settings; I did not adjust the screws. I put the metal gasket back after cleaning it up. I would have replaced it, but I couldn't find one at the local aftermarket shops.

I think it might just be time for a new one, too. You've got me beat with miles, but there are still over 186k on the clock.
