Good Morning Everyone,

Here is the story. When I first started working on my CA (about 7 years ago), I was a young child of 18 and was thinking huge power. During this time, I decided to remove my butterfly valves from the lower manifold because I thought I was shooting for 400+whp. Since I've grown up a bit, I've realized I will be more than happy most likely to max out the BB T28 turbo that is currently attached to my exhaust manifold. So should I re-install the butterfly valves? I have another spare sub-manifold with them installed and was planning on buying all the delay valves and vacuum tank and hooking up a solenoid to the ECU to properly control everything. I'm really looking for some insight on this one before I start putting everything together. Below is my setup I'm running:

BB T28 Turbo on stock manifold
550cc Injectors
Z32 MAF
NIStune
Tomei PONcams
Front mount intercooler
Turbo Back Exhaust

Thanks everyone.

yes! You'll notice the difference for sure. You don't need all of the stock stuff though, just use a vacuum actuated control valve like the cruise control unit from a Volvo like is in the write ups. The stock setup was a MESS and trust me, you don't want to replicate it. I've been down that road at it was unsightly.

I'll look back at the stickies again. I was looking at the Volvo units but couldn't tell which one exactly I needed when looking on ebay and what not. But I'm sure I can figure it out.

I guess until I find all the parts I need an install them, I can always either run a vacuum line to the manifold to actuate them or just leave them open to atmosphere and I would be in the same spot as I was before.

I would just leave them open all the time until you're ready to hook the system up.

I purchased a Volvo cruise unit to use on my butterfly valves. Thanks for the input guys. Hopefully I can figure out where the map is in NIStune to be able to change where the butterflies open/close

Search for it. I'm SURE the location has been mentioned in here before.

You have been running around for a while without them, right? If that's the case then the best person to answer that question is you. If it's not bugging you then it's not needed. If you are having to drive around the character of a "straight eight" then, yeah, put them back in.
