should i punch out my cat?

I have the HKS high flow cat back exaust system installed on my 95 240sx and just wondering if it would be worth punching out the cat for some more power, and would there be any unforseen problems with doing this

it has a nice low tone now, would it get obnoxious if i did this?

If you are in a emissions controlled area, no. I quess that goes without saying.

Any car that I've seen that has that done seem to have a buzzing sound.

Ya, I've never really seen this done with any good results or a good sounding exhaust. Just save up about $40 for a new one. Then you have a working cat just in case you need to throw it on there.

I don't know much about the cars, but it'll give less back pressure and might affect the way it runs...

you can always pester Hitman and see what he can hook you up with in a high flow variety.

Dont know what your emissions control laws are like in the US or even if you car is a turbo (We only have the turbo cars in the UK)....

But if you decat (as pretty much all of us do in the uk) you get a load more power, but only if its a turbo.....

Harrisburg already has enough pollution. Keep the cat until you get a high flow. You won't notice that much difference unless you have turbo already.
