i think it is the original cc so it is quite old. wondering if it is adviseable to replace even though everything seems to run well. passed aircare.

A cat can last the life of the car. It really depends on how the car was maintained over the years, If nothing was ever let get out of hand it could easily last many more years. I still have the original cat on my 89 vehicle ,last time I ran a smog on it my numbers were as good as a newer cars readings. Of course I keep the car running at top notch so the cat doesnt need to work as hard.

Nistech, how to know if your cat needs change without a gas analizer?

Unless the car is obdII it is pretty much impossible to tell with out an analyzer.
