I've been looking at couple of j30's in my area; I came across one today that i test drove and was well pleased with the ride however there were some other areas that concerned me.

1. The sunroof is cracked open but it won't move. You can here the motor grinding along but I think its stuck. Its been raining for two days here and I also noticed that the entire floor is wet (front/back.)

2. All the windows work...well some what work. They all go down but the front passenger and rear passenger windows do the funkiest thing when coming up. When I try to raise the rear window up the front comes down and vice verse. I had to raise both up at the same time to get them up.

3. The driver side door has to be opened from the inside. For some reason the latch doesn't work and the rear door on the drivers side doesn't open or unlock at all.

4.Lastly there are minnor things I need help with as well. ABS light is on, Airbag light is on, Engine light goes off and on and the trunk closes and locks but won't unlock from inside the car...I could here the unlocking motor trying to unlock but it remains lock. Had to ues the key...oh when its closed on side doesn't look closed all the way.

I want a J30 but don't know if i want this one.....

wow seems like a handfull..now i would do it but i would ask under a grand for it thats alot of problems to diagnose especially wanter damage next time you look at that car pull up all the mats and check the floor for rust also the windows are without a doubt a wiring problem as far as everything else im not to much of an infiniti enthusiast but if your willing to have a project car go for it..they are nice cars especially with some DD rims w/ negative camber and slammed to the ground

Welcome to NICO!!!

I agree with naladude911!!!

These cars are very expensive in upkeep and parts (very little aftermarket, your stuck with Infiniti OEM parts). On the other hand, if you got the cash and the time to DIY-go for it!!!

I would only buy a well maintained J with all receipts/service records. Well maintained J's will largely be trouble free and a bit easier on your wallet.
