I'm in my 5 day grace period from CarMax. I love the car, it screams quality at 23K miles. But I have concerns about the transmission, serious concerns. I know it's under warranty until 60K and I have the extended through CarMax up to 100K, but I have a fear of reoccurring issues. Currently I don't think there are any problems with it, but the internet is on fire with CVT issues on these outsourced transmissions. I talked to a service rep, and he claims they are not any worse than other drivetrains, and the warranty is adequate. I am obviously not convinced. I really like the car, and I don't think there are many very reliable models of any make anymore, due to all the electronic "drive by wire" technology in use over the past 5 years. What is the opinion here on the viable ownership of a modern CVT?

The transmission is warranted through Nissan for 120K. If you like the car, I would keep it.

It's certainly no worse than others, MANY brands are now having trans issues.......................too much technology coming out without it being fully tested out now. The computers predict they are fine and the driving public is now the test guinea pig crowd.
