i have the 93 Q IP. thinknin about 35 on the back 3 windows(including the small ones) but i don't kno what percentage to tint the front, since the law in CA says must allow at least 70% light in. so what % tint would that be?? would 70% film for the front window be a lilttle noticeable but also legal in cali?? any suggestions would be appreciated. thanx!!

If the law states 70% of outside light must pass thru glass with tint film installed {net light transmittance}, it leaves no margin to apply any tint film as the factory glass already cuts the light transmittance to about 80-82%.......leaves you only 10-12% to play with to get to your 70% minimum....would need almost a clear UV blocking film
Hooper or any other 30% or even lighter 50% film will be too dark to pass test once you include the tint already built in the factory glass.

It depends on what part of CA you live in, your sign just says "City" which doesn't really narrow it down.
If you live in Palm Springs or the Central Valley, you can get away with a very dark tint and nobody will give you a seconds issue. My dad had his cars really dark in Palm Desert but he got pulled over when driving in Orange County. He got out of it BTW with a doctors note saying he had melonoma (which he really does have). I have dark tint on my 300ZX and got pulled over once in the Bay Area and given a warning after they saw I wasn't a gangsta, in LA it will depend on what part you live in, if you live near the hood, just leave the fronts alone as you'll get pulled over for sure. If you really want to get it tinted, just make sure your front is very different than the rears and you will probably not get hassled for it, not the #1 thing a CHP or LAPD is looking for....sort of like front plates, I have not had one on any of my cars in 30+ years of driving in CA and never got a ticket for it, nor a mention when I was getting a ticket either..
