Should I get the GR-2's or the AGX's?

General discussion forum about the 240sx, and a great place to introduce yourself to the board!

My front schocks are completely blown and I need to get some new ones quick. Theres two GR-2s allready in the back and it would cost me 180 for two front ones. Or I can get AGX for front and back for 330. What should I go for? Since the AGX is adjustable, does it make much diffference in performance?

GR2s are crappy stock replacments, AGXs are nice adjustable. Go with the AGXs or toss some GR2s on the front and save for some coilovers. Remember the car will ride alot stiffer with the AGXs than the GR2s, But if your sports minded at all go with the AGXs.

Are AGX's really that much better? My friend told me that GR-2s are actually stiffer. Does he just not know what hes talking about, or is there some truth in his words.

AGXs are adjustable. SO simply stating that GR-2s are stiffer is incorrect. On their softest setting, AGXs may be softer than GR-2s, however on their stiffest setting... not a chance in hell.

GET the AGXs.

damn i paid $420 a month ago and they are still sitting in my garage to replace my gr-2's

I've never played around with the suspension b4, so this may be a stupid question. If you get the adjustable shocks, what exactly do you do to adjust them?

the front struts have little dials at the top of the strut (the part that sticks up into your engine bay) you turn with a small flathead screwdriver (supplied) and the rears have a dial on the exterior of the body you turn by hand. It's really easy.

and for the love of all things holy, get the AGX's!!! especially at that price. You won't be dissapointed. Being able to adjust them softer for daily driving, and harder for track or hard street driving is a godsend

if you are going to be doing any racing at all...then get the cheap ones and save for coils. a friend of my has the AGX's and his car is lowered with ______ coils (can't remember which ones...i think Ebiach) but he hates them totally. there is no suspension travel and he bottoms out all the time. he is now getting coils to solve this problem.
