Should i get spacers?

durring the summer time I run wide tires (225/50) on s14 rims and even though i have cheap coilover sleeves to acomadate the wider rims (6.5 vs the s13's 6) The tires dont rub but are extremely close to the springs... Im thinking about getting maybe some 3mm or 5mm spacers for the front for peace of mind... but if i just got them for the front would such a thin spacer affect handleing at all? Do spacers affect performance (rotational weight?) The spacers arent needed in the rear for fitment purposes. I dont even know if its worth it... My future plans are to upgrade to a true coilover kit this summer, and aftermarket rims next summer.
