I never even thought to buy one. I have insurance. In my city the biggest news if somebody stills a bike. Nothing happens here. It is a dead town. There is no need for an alarm here. I even go out sometimes and realize I forgot to lock the door overnight. I do same thing with the house. I don't lock it much. I trust people and my gun.

There's not much more you really need from an alarm from a security standpoint than the factory alarm. It senses door openings like any other alarm. It's missing a shock sensor, but that doesn't necessarily secure the car. But there is a way to add one to the factory alarm. I wouldn't worry about the car getting stolen either. The immobilizer (chipped key) is highly resistant to being defeated. Essentially, they would find that towing the car would be the easiest way to steal it.

yes, to test it, roll your windows down or sit inside the car with the engine off and lock the doors with the remote, wait 30seconds (or a minute) and then unlock the door, and the alarm should sound for i think 2 minutes
