Allright, here's the deal:

Some guy approaches me at the car meet tonight (we have a weekly one here in Orlando) and asks if my s13 is for sale... I'm like "well I guess its always for sale for the right price...lol" not really thinking he'll offer you know? But he's like would you take $3500?

He said I could even take off all my aftermarket stuff (rims, lip, sparco harnesses, tension rods, lsd, 180sx lights, racing seats) etc and make it stock again and he'd still offer $3500! thats over blue book on my car (for excellent condition its $3400) and it has a slightly misaligned front bumper from a 5mph collision with an SUV...

With $3500 I could go buy a shell: $500... get a silvia conversion :$1000, get it painted british racing green, get suspension $1000, and put my CA in and be DONE!

BUT, its getting increasingly hard to find a good condition S13 because every ricer and their mom are snatching them up :( and its alot of hassle because the guy who wants my car just totaled his spec v, and needs to know if i'll sell the s13 within the next 2 weeks!

SO I guess provide some input if you think its a good idea or not, and if so, do you guys know of anyplace to find a cheap s13 coupe? really doesn't matter what color or year or mileage, but no real bad body damage!:)

thanks,Sean

lol... the lower pic isn't exactly what i'm shooting for (but its the only other british racing green silvia i've ever seen;))

I'd keep my rims i've got now and this is how I'm thinking of spending the money: (BUT first i'll point out that I'm leaning towards NOT selling my car, I figure its not worth the hassle, and my s13 is one of the nicest chassis that i've seen):

Silvia front end: $1000suspension: $1000S13 coupe chassis: $1000Paint, whatever I have left: so $500... plus I have an extra CA to sell, a KA to sell, a Nissan motorsports front lip to sell, 180sx lights to sell, and a bunch of miscilaneous stuff i need to clear out of my garage... I'd plan on about $1500 in paint/body work. Is that not enough to allot for that?

Dude keep the car or youll get more and more behind on the rest of the things. Just keep your car and continue with what you have.

Sean... KEEP YOUR CAR

Really man... I KNOW you will regret it. You already have a mint platform, and thats all you need! $3500 is nothing... you can spend that on a turbo or pistons alone! You have a base, in GREAT shape (I would kill for your car, I live in Canada, the land of rust), a working CA... worth much more than $3500 in my opinion.

all you would be doing is putting yourself back a step and you would spend all the money getting what you already have

I would keep it!I'm into kinda the same situation, i could get about 3500Euro (ca.3900$),totally stock, although i only paid 2200Euro 2 years ago, but i wouldn't do it also, because it will be hard to find a car(shell) in a comparable shape and cheap enough to save some money for parts, and my CA ran fine all the time :) .

On the other hand i would buy the front lip, if you sell your car :D .

yea keep your car... there will always be somebody out there that will buy your car if it is stock... with the recient drift craz the demand for s13 will only go up.. so look for shell buy it when you find it then sell your car .. but don't give up your car untill you have the other on .. just imagine how long to find a shell will take

ok, so how much would he have to give me for it? I mean this guy seems pretty serious about giving even more... He's got the money seeing as he just wrecked a brand new se-r spec v... but I still don't know! aaaaahhhh this sucks. If i can get $4000 for it, I just made $1000 (I only paid $3000 for it 2 years ago) and I can do everything I want to a new s13 chassis...

If i keep the current car the modding stops when I get the CA18 in and running again. I'm just outta money, and I need to focus on school more as my engineering courses get tougher next semester:(

ssooooo hard to decide:eek: I'll let you know how much I can get from him after I talk with him later today...

go with your heart...but before you do take a day or so and look around for another car. see how hard its going to be to find one. That will make your mind up for you. If you can find a couple really easy then sell it. If not then i wouldnt sell

Sean, keep the car. Plain and simple. If you sell, it will come back and bite you in the ***, and I don't wanna have to listen to you complain. LOL, JK. But seriously, you've got a nice clean car and you're well on your way to being totally awesome. KEEP THE CAR!!!

Sell it and buy a S12. You could pick up a shell for under $100 bucks. Hell you could probably get two for under 100 bucks. $2500 into a S12 gets you FAST and some spare cocaine on the side.

Man, I the only thing that you would regret is not taking that offer. But if you are 50/50 and you are not really sure, go back to him for $4k, come up with some good reasons- condition, location, quality of work, etc. and if he bites, take it. If he doesn't... don't. nothing gained, nothing lost.

I gotta say I might actually do it, if it turns out that you put less into what you are giving him , than you put into it...'b'sides, your newer motor will have less miles... wait - are you doing another swap? ... this complicates everything!:alcoholic :alcoholic

Its got a stock KA in it right now... I pulled the CA when it took a dump on me:( I have another CA in my garage (set to go in my current 240, but I'll hold off, and put it in the new one), so the mileage isn't that big of a concern to me... I'm not going for less than $4k if I even go at all... still thinkin' about it:confused:

Dude, I thought you HAD a CA in there, he wants to pay that for a stripped down KA?!! Stock s13's in running condition with origional paint and maybe a ding or 2 go for around $1000 here.. depending on the milage, and a few other variables. I got my '89 with a big ding, but uncracked dash for $800. AND the a/c still worked (very important if u live here)

but I am not you, so you must do what is right for you...:beer :beer
