I have just taken the radiator schroud off so I can replace the fan, I am waiting for the new fan to come from Joe. There is 53K on my 94Q, I don't think the hoses have ever been changed but they look fine. The reason I am considering changing them is it looks like from the stuff I HAVE taken off this would be a good time to do it, however I don't want to fool around with them if it isn't necessary.. Is there time involved with hoses needing replacement, or is it mileage?? What do you guys think?? If I do change them, I am guessing I just drain the radiator from the lower drain, I believe there are two should I open both or just one in this case?? Thanks for help!! Wayne

Do it - It's cheap insurance.

No need to open the drainc0cks - just disconnect the lower hose and let 'er rip.

Refill with 70% distilled water, 20% AF, and 2 bottles Redline Water Wetter.

My original radiatior hoses seem like new . 90Q 151k. I , too have to change the fan (stress cracks) and may change the hoses then.

i don't dirve long distances much...so I guess I am tempting fate.... not with the fan.. that will be replaced in the next couple of weeks...

Most radiators have 2 main hoses, an upper and a lower. They go bad from the inside out, so replace them if you're at all unsure about them. Outer inspections tell you very little; if they look bad on the outside you should have replaced them much sooner. If you bust a hose on the road, you might not know till your car overheats. Like Hitman said, cheap insurance.

Well, Iam done , I changed all 3 hoses. put on the new radiator fan and have it all back together. The only thing I have left to do is put antifreeze back in, Which brings me to a question. I have all the antifreeze I will need setting on a shelf but it is two years old. I have never heard of a shelf life on antifreeze, but is there?? Also the top trim piece that fits on top of the one radiator cap, or air conditiong cap? I am baffled as to why it gets covered up by that trim piece, what is it for?? Iam still trying to figure out how to reset whatever, so I can get my memory for the seats and my remote to work after I switched batteries. I feel so good after I finished with all the work I have done to the Q., and all the thanks go to you members who helped me do all this. Thanks much!!!!! Wayne

The seat memory procedure is in your owner's manual, if you don't have one do a search on seat memory, it's in here several places.
