Hey everyone, I have my engine out and sorta pulled apart right now. Im wondering should I bother to change the headgasket and piston rings? When i took off the turbo elbow, there was a small puddle of oil, but i guess it would be normal from the crankcase spitting,,but it wasnt much oil..it poured a bit..the turbo seems solid..no shaft play really...and all my gaskets on the turbo were in suprisingly really good condition...So does the timing belt...but I cant really tell on the internal condition..plus its obvious the engines been sitting for a while. I would wanna change the h/g but finding the head bolts seems to illude me..plus i havent a flying fu<k in experience in doing it and would most likely need someone to do it for me..definately for the rings.Should I go ahead and change em..or go in good faith? Im putting the engine up on a stand this weekend..ive only been able to get on the turbo side really in its current position..oh yeah...where do hell do i bolt on a 4 arm stand onto the engine?

Thanks

We got the engine stand on my ca pretty easy but def take off the clutch assembly.

I would change everything to give you that piece of mind. Better to do it now while you got the motor out then wait to get it all back together, back in the car, just to find out you should have done it right the first time. Do it right the first time or end up paying more later.
