alright well.. first off i road in this car the other night and all i can say is wow.. its fast.. its a toyota Cresida with a 1JZ motor in it (the motor that comes in the newer modle supras) its V6 twin turbo, its automatic but that dosnt matter to me too much.. its running at about 10PSI right now wich could be boosted up alot more, it just dosnt have a boost controler so its all stock.. this motor was swaped into it and its a pro job.. but the best thing of all is its only 4000$... wich is one heck of a deal... but im just wondering what you all think.. i would have to sell my car and all, but this car is clean as heck, 4 door, leather seats, and has some nice rims, other then that its a total sleeper.. here is a link to a simular car, just to give u an idea of what it looks like http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=6059

oh yeah and the car is RWD, and drifts without any effort.. lol

so tell me what ya think cuz i really like the car and if i can come up with the cash i might just buy it...

well if i keep it pritty much at a stock level, it cant be that much more to maintain then a normal car.. shure gas will be more but other then that, im using full syn. oil right now, so that wont be much of a diffrence.. what more could cost more?

note: this is why im asking you guys on this, because all i see is "oh its fast, i want it" i need some other prospectives...

amen, think I'd use the 240 for a daily driver though, assuming you plan to keep it as well.

Cressida is the sweetness, you could be even more of a elitetist then the MKIV owners cuz you'd have a MKIV powered Cressida!

How about you keep your 240, buy that car and put the 1jz in your 240. Then part out the rest of that car :-) That way you get the 1jz AND the 240.

If you're not buyin it let me know where it is so i can;) thats a pretty sweet deal.. I don't know what 1jz's go for but that alone must be worth 2 Gs(?) I'd snap it up.. And I can... if you don't want it..

It's not a 1jz, it would be a 2jz if it were turbo. 1jz's were all non-turbo. Keep the 240.

You dont know what the hell your talking about do you? ;)

2jzgte = 3 liter twin turbo2jzge = 3 liter non turbo1jzgte = 2.5 liter twin turbo1jzge = 2.5 liter non turbo

and lastly, the 1jzgte is not a supra motor

mm, one thing you might want to concider, there are no 1jz parts in america, it will be a very expensive motor to fix or upgrade.

didnt the 1jz come in the soarers over in japan? the 2.5GTs, right? it'd be a fun car, but like J-Spec said, no 1jzs in america, therefore, lots of fun getting stuff from japan at wonderfully high prices. if you knew everything was sound, and you had a good source for parts, maybe, just MAYBE you should get it, but it would still be hard to maintain.

There are no turbo versions, and there are no non-turbo versions in america. No american toyota ever came with a 1jz in either form...

The last gen cressida came with the 7mge strait six, and naturally aspriated MkIV supras come with 2jzge's

that cressida looks pimp, especially with that awesome swap, but think about it in a logical fashion. It would be fun, but when something breaks (stuff WILL break, just happens) where are you going to be and how are you going to get parts and how are you going to get along without a car?

Swinging a 3400 lb sedan sideways isnt what i would exactly call easy ;)

If your concerned with drifting, the s13 is where you should stay.

What would i do? Keep both :D

well, there are some exchangable parts, such as the R154 transmission, which is replacible with the MkIII supra transmission, you just have to use the 1jz bell housing. MkIV supras only came with 2jz series motors. A few parts are interchangeble, but even then, remember that 2jz parts are really expensive anyways.

Really, i think $4000 for that car is a killer deal, i would pick it up. Its just not a great drift car as replacement parts are expensive and the aftermarket is almost non-existant.

i remember seeing something about the supras having a 1jz, but i dont know if it was true. and i dont think the 2jz parts would fit. i mean, the rb26 and 25 arent totally the same. im sure some of the parts might be the same, but not all.

No supra's came 1jz's, trust me :) No lexuses have 1jz's either.

the only JZ series motors EVER sold in the US were the 2jzgte and 2jzge.

Some MkIII supras have installed 1jz's, and even though they lose .5 liters, they gain a much better engine design and dont have to deal with self disintigrating headgaskets. Not that the 7mgte isnt a good motor, powerful for cheap.
