for $500 you're not gonna get much. If the frame is straight then swap out the motor and fix up the body. Booyeahhh, ripper for little to no $

Ya but i would bet that the frame is bent. I wouldnt do it if i were u b/c your looking at at least 6+ months of down time in fixing it and swaping and engine( if thats what u plan to do). What ever you do keep us posted and good luck.

I can sum it up in two words: "parts car". If you want a project car, I suggest spending less than $500 more for a complete non-frame damaged one. Good luck

I'm not sure if you could find a part on that car that wasn't already broken. ;)

Anyway, I'd definitely pass on that one.

pass on that one, I saw a perfectly good 1993 240sx SE in a junkyard. Flawless except for a blown engine for the same price. If I can do better, believe me, you can too!

you guys rock. as you can see this is my 2nd post and im blown away- 8 replies in one day! anyway the guy emailed me back, but was super vague on the details. the car is damaged in the rear too. although ive got a long michigan winter to work on this project, im no bodyman, so i think ill pass on this one. im looking for an s14 se, my budget is 2300$- doesnt have to run obviously- so if anybody runs across something, let me know. i also have a nicely modified 91 integra ive gotta sell, im trying to get 4500.thanks again

Yeah. I take back what I said. You could offer the guy $200 and see if he bites. The thing already looks like it's been stripped, but it's got the OE alloys (I think...), which could probably get you some $$$. You could probably find a few other bits that you could use/sell. Too bad the interior looks stripped and there are "engine parts missing".

It has no radiator support, or whatever it had is so mangled I can't make it out. Glad you decided to pass on it. :batman

yeah, my initial thought was; 'sweet! no seats, good excuse to bolt in some sparcos!' and 'sweet! wrecked front end, good excuse to bolt on 97-98 bodywork!' but theres just too much misery going on there, i think im better off saving my pennies for a clean car with a blown engine. i asked the guy if the suspension/ steering was ok, and he responded 'needs front clip swap' or something to that effect. also, i dont think SCCA will let you race an SRS equipped vehicle if the bags are blown.

also if you buy a car that has good parts and you are gonna swap them out ... you can sell the old parts after the swap to make a bit of cash back.

As much as I like projects... I think that might be too much to be worthwhile. Glad you passed up on it cause it looks like a doozy.

I've thought about going through insurance auctions, but I dunno if I want another salvage title car(my 96' Chevy Z71 is salvage).

really kills your resale if for some reason u wanna get rid of it...
