hey guys i have a chance to buy a 1997 240sx.. its green with leather and all the options offered that year. has 57K miles.. body is in great shape.

well its my co-workers wife car. they are selling it for 7K.

now i am debating should i buy it. if i decide to sell in a year or so .. would the value decrease to 3K ?

also would you guys buy it? car has minor blemishes.

please help me out.. i am looking for opinions.

Well, consider that currently a good condition S13 will easily go for 2k to 3k, so I would think a 1997 S14 in good shape like that is going to go for more than 3k easily, even in another year. Assuming it stays in good shape.

My guess would be that in a year you could get 5k minimum.

S14 holds its value pretty well... Considering there's a high demand for it (relatively). And recently, it seems like everyone wants one.

The car looks pretty damn sweet and it's got a low mileage... Id go at it for 7000 dollars

my goal is not to sell it in a year, but as a backup if finances dont go right.

I would like either turbo it or swap the car in 2 years or so. since i want to maybe buy a house. so mods and upgrades will have to wait.

so you guys think this is a good value?

That LE is in pretty good condition, try to talk them down to like 6/6-1/2. If kept in good condition and miles stay low, I guarantee you could sell it for at least 5-6 thousand next year.

Yeah, I see 98's for $13k here and its stock.

I say go for it. $7000 for a kouki s14 with 53k is a good deal.

Yes, get it...kouki s14's are mad sexy...and I doubt the value will drop too much, especially considering the high-demand of 240's...

I'd say that's a pretty good deal. Low miles, 5-speed, and no it's not a LE model. That Kouki is purely a SE. Even has the side skirts...If I didn't already have 2 240's I'd buy it!

Cars like that would easily fetch over $14,000Cdn in my area. I would jump on that in a second if I had the funds. Hope it all works out for you.

Yeah, plus a Kouki S14 would be really reliable for a daily driver. Tell us how it goes.

That doesn't sound like a half bad price. If you can talk him down a little maybe 6500. I would just jump on it until its to late.

Make up some lame excuse to bring down the price like, there's no cup holder or say "it's not really my color". sexy car btw. i dont see many s14's around my area.

i beleive that if it has an (V)LSD there will be an orange colored sticker on the diff. look for that(anyone feel free to correct me)

as far as abs, the owners manual should say, or you could mash the brakes while driving and you should be able to tell
