I looked at a 91 tt earlier. It has right quarter damage from accident. I heard they are not replacable is that true? I was trying to see how the factory installed them. I know I could probably weld in a used one. I would like to install it where the factory did. This car has 45,000 original miles 5-speed the body has no rust but is kinda beat up. Needs some interior work.windsheild busted. Engine had some lifter noise when we first started it. It started to go away after awhile. Runs a little rough. It has been sitting for a long time I am sure the gas is bad thats probably why. hcias light on, abs light on brake pedal low but pumps up. clutch feels funky win you push it down but works. I think the brakes & clutch need to be bled that may resolve the problem. I do body & paint work for a living. So that isn't such a big deal other than the quarter. I can get it for around $5000.00 The mileage is documented. Found couple other ones but they all have around 150,000 miles & still need paint & some interior work Just not as much. I am looking to spend around 5 to 6 on one. Any input would be appreiciated. THANKS, JOE

sounds like alot for the car needing that much work, how bad is the quarter? I replaced the rocker on my car with a used one, it was alot of work but you wouldnt be able to tell it was replaced. Lots of spot welds to drill out tho. i see alot of good condition tt z's going for $6k-8k with low miles around ny

IT needs alot of TLC was planing repainting whatever I bought. Wasn't really planning on replacing a quarter. The quarter is smacked in pretty good. Its borderline on replacement if I did fix it it would have filler from one end to the other. I like the mileage. I don't know if it's worth messing with one with high mileage. I am going to look at another one tomorrow but it has 150,000 miles on it. It needs paint also but its a daily driver. Had some engine mods done recently. Kind of scary to modify a engine that has 150,000 mile on it. Just wondering what my best bet is in the long run. Not looking to sell it when its done. But seems like ones with under 100k on them are worth alot more. Not to mention I would'nt want to repaint the car. Than have to replace the engine shortly after.
