Hi guys, first post here..

Recently looking for a G37Xs and I found one at my local Infiniti dealer in Danvers,MA

This car has 33k on it but without Navi, i got the price down to 27,200 and the only reason i am skeptical to buy it is because there is no previous service records from any infiniti dealer the only records are that it had 2 tires replaced and rear brakes when the car arrived at infiniti dealership after it was bought from auction, also they had to fix power windows as they wouldnt work.. seems a little sketchy or am i over analyzing?

The lack of service history is mostly because there isnt much to service on a G before 30k miles. then between every 30k miles there isnt much to service. the G is just boring reliable car lol.

30k miles is when the first semi major service of the G37 is supposed the happen... but before that its just oil changes and one air filter change. the in-cabin filter should of been changed at least once in the 30k miles. So the person probably got rid of the car at the first semi major service. i say only semi major because the 30k service at a dealer cost about $400-500, where the 60k service could get above $500 at the dealer.

Most of the service items can be done your self for just the price of the part and some of your time. for example air filter replacement cost about $100 at the dealer. you are paying about $40 in parts and $60 in labor. Its a complete rip off as the air filters take less than 6 mins to change, not worth $60 in labor.

My 2010 G37x is at 93k miles and has never broke down, all i realy been doing is oil changes. replaced the radiator cap and fluid at 30k, replaced fluids in front and rear diff at 60k, replaced power steering fluid at about 60k (not really needed, but im kinda anal), replaced fluid in AWD transfer case at 60k, replaced spark plugs at about 75k, replaced drive belt at about 80k (it could of went longer), replaced the battery at about 80k also. oh yeah i got warranty work done on the rear drive shaft for AWD Gs, reduces highway vibration at speeds above 80mph.

Only thing bugging me is that only two tires were replaced by infiniti and the rear brakes.. this makes me think someone was abusing it...

well the AWD system uses the brakes to "vector" power to each individual wheel, thus on both my AWD Gs the rear brakes go out first. Anyone with a "heavy foot" will go through the stock brakes very quickly, so your suspician is warranted. (i know this because i went through my stock brake pads with in 5 months of purchasing my G37x new) With that said, i killed my brakes but i didnt kill the car, the G can and will handle any "abuse". I just replaced pads and rotors with better aftermarket versions and now my brakes last me 2 years instead of 5 months lol.

I track my G37x many times during the year, the car still runs like new. If there is no sign of an accident or any mechanical problems past some WEAR ITEMS like tires and brakes being replaced, i wouldnt be scared off with a G that has such low miles. plenty of warranty left too.

ultimately up to you though...

Naah!

A little water reaching the power windows shouldn't be a show stopper.

Must be a very reliable dealer if they are buying vehicles to resell at auction. You can buy em real cheap with washed titles from being flooded in hurricane Sandy.

If it sounds too good to be true it usually is.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Just my $.02

Hmmm!

It was a few more that just vehicles in a small jersey shore town of Sandy Hook

"The prospect of title-washed cars from Hurricane Sandy entering the market raised alerts thousands of miles from New York. Officials warned consumers in Georgia, North Carolina and Illinois, where the secretary of state’s office is scrutinizing all new title applications for cars coming in from states affected by the storm. A foreign market for these cars is also booming, unfettered by American regulations. "
