I know a guy that is goin to sell me an 1989 240sx for $500 but the Wiring has a short in it the body is crap but the motor only has 70k on it. So I guess what i'm asking is should i get it the motor and transmission are good and tis a 5spd, and if i do how hard is it to rewire the car.

what is the short causing the car to do? is it drivable? how is the interior? i would pick it up for sure if you can drive it home at least.

if your just looking to make some extra cash I know people on almost any forum would love to find a s13 part-out thread. 5spd conversion alone is worth 300.00 with trans.

just food for thought

If you know how to work on cars and do everything yourself then go for it. If you dont mind putting in the hours to finding a short and fixing it correctly or dont mind doing the bodywork or paying for it then do it. If you have some extra cash and can afford a $2000. car instead it you may find a cleaner 240. thats my 2 cents
