Ok, help me with this desicion. 95 240sx with 84k original miles, auto, sunroof, pdl, ac, spoiler, etc.. Car has no clear coat and has been sitting in a storage yard for a year now. It will cost me $1,000 to get it from this guy i work with. Its interrior is really clean, and the outside is ok except for.... (as u scroll down to the pic and say uggh)

Runs and drives straight (he drove it like this for months)salvage title

Is it worth the price as a fixer uper or a parts car?????

(the bulge in the trunk is the folded up carpet not bent metal)

What do u think?

depending on how much it is to repair the back I'd say it's a good deal

Part it out

Look at the flexes in the metal, it goes all the way to the rear driver's side window. It would take a lot of money to fix, and who knows if the frame is still straight.

the left rear wheel looks like it took the brunt of an impact too, looks horribly out of alignment and stuff

definatly a parts car

does the trunk close at all? is the driverside quarter glass deformed at all? im guessing you could probably sledge out a lot of that dent from the inside, cut away some of the wrinkled fender well, rivet it together, put on some fiberglass overfenders, body kit, bondo any other dents, buy a taillight, prime it. would cost about 2500$ all together including the car. the only thing that i would worry about is getting the trunk to look not crappy, and i cant see in that pic but if the door dosent shut right that would also suck. suffice to say i need more pics.

If you know what you're doing, it's worth it to fix. Paying someone else to fix it... bad.If you can't do it yourself...I'd say use it for parts...

What hit him/did he back into?

The trunk closes straight, but the back end is about 3 inches pushed in at the far left

The wheel is straight, it's just flat and sunk into the ground. He drove it to work for about 6 months without any problems, and the treadwear on all of the tires is even.

He said someone did a hit-and-run in town, and clipped his back bumper going way too fast it looks like

The only thing i'm worried about is all the metal work arround the tail light, that stuff is pretty messed up.

But since my 89 ka-t has a sohc, i could always see what it is like to have 2 cams pushing me along

For $1,000 bucks, buy it and part it out. That damage is way too much to deal with IMO. Take the motor for yourself, and part out the dash, seats and other interior parts.

If it really does drive straight, might aswell buy it, strip every single part that is not necessary to have it be driven comfortably and sell them off, and use the car for some fun times. Learn to drift, or shred apart parking lots and such with dounuts and massive burnouts etc.
