OK. I just purchased an '08 G37 6 MT (blk/stone) with prem, nav.

Should I buy the extended warranty the dealer attempts to sell you when you are completing your paperwork. It's essentially $2k to double the manufacturer's warranty to 96 mo. / 120 k miles.

Various articles I've read indicates to always turn down this coverage, but since much of the equipment is expensive on these cars. I'm thinking twice about it. Is there another third party company you would suggest. Please advise.

Thanks in advance for the replies. I'll also post some pics.

I'm with you! I usually refuse extended warrantys but I made an exception for my 06 G35. Perhaps I pissed away $two grand but I commute two thousand miles a month and decided that for me it was worth it.The dealer billed me monthly at no finance charge for a year & I just paid it off. So far in 77k miles the dealer replaced two defective tire pressure warning sensors and one drivers side air bag control module.Best vehicle I ever owned, even better than my old 53 Studebaker 3 speed stick shift. It even had an AM radio

I normally don't purchase the extended warranties, however, when I bought my 04 G35C with 40K miles I did buy one thru my Nissan dealer for an extra 36K miles since I didn't have alot of history on the vehicle. They gave me a great deal on it. You can shop around for these warranties if you decide to purchase one. With it being the last day of the month, somebody might want to get one more out the door in a bad way!!

Good luck!

one thing you might want to check into is if you are financing it thru your bank most major banks offer a extended warrenty that is just as good or better for less than the dealers one.. when i bought my 06 g35 coupe i went with the one thru the bank .

careful on the ones that are not backed by insurance companies. Neighbor bought one and they went belly up. Didn't find this out til his transmission went south. He was not very happy.
