I am looking at investing into a 1989-1993 240SX as my next project car in about six months, however I am not completely confident of this choice. :( So what i am looking for is any suggestions on what to look for when buying (if i do) and what year is the best? :help

Peace,

:ylsuper

i figured i should have mentioned that, but did not want to leave a long post.

I am going for the extreme, for the most part. Big exterior/interior modifications. I am not looking into an engine swap, but will be wanting to squeez everybit of power out of the 2.4 L engine possible (including nitrous and turbo modifications).

What years have the DOHC KA24DE engines? Are the DOHC better performers than the SOHC (Statistically, as in, is there a big difference?).

I have read about an 1989 being turboed with stock engine, only a couple of bolt ons (the basic necesities for the added turbo) at 7psi and dropped 3 seconds off the his stock time (16.7 down to 13.7). So that impressed me enough to look into these cars.

I am looking into investing the car for showcasing.

Peace,

I would pose your questions in the 240 General Chat section. There are tons of people there that will be able to answer all the questions that you may have. Also, I find this FAQ very helpful with the specs of the 240SX.http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....=1259

Being a 240 owner, I would highly suggest getting one. Its a great looking car that handles very well and has a huge aftermarket following.

I don't think you should because you're asking for people's opinion if you should get one. If you really wanted one you would have already bought one. : p

91-94 S13 is what i recommend.

Cheap, quite available, pretty reliable.

I've got 270,000kms on mine and i've had it for 2 years without ANY problems (replaced brake pads and new spark plugs)

s13240, the only reason why I asked was to start conversation, and see where it will go. I was expecting everyone here would say yes, just because this is a message board about nissan's, so it is quite natural for everyone to say yes. The whole point here is to get some feed back about 240SX's, and it's presence in the show scene, as that is what I focus on with all the cars that I invest into, just wanting to hear what people have to say about and like about Nissan's 240SX. :pface ;)
