Hey guys,

this is my first post her at 240sx, i am a member of maxima.org and currenty own a 1997 maxima 5spd. I love it but i need a 240, i am moving to florida and i am wondering how little money is needed to get a 240 project done and or whats the best method. I can buy a 240 swap already done, i can buy the clip and the donor car and get the swap done, i can do the swap myself, but i need it done fast and for the price of my maxima if it sold. Is this feasable. how much can i do this for realistically. i wanna do a 1990 240sx with the sr20det redtop. is this gonna be major moeny or can it be done for uner 5 grand any way possible.thanks in advance. looking forward to some helpful knowledge. also i am moving to ft lauderdale area if anyone is from there and knows some good shops or good people give me some info please .thanks much.

You can find a 240sx with a blown motor for under $1200. Then try to get a front clip for $2-2500. All other stuff required would be around $500, so I would say $4200 for a 240sx and an SR swap.

It will be more than 5K for a quality car and a quality swap, but YES!

From what I understand, FL is devoid of any type of car inspection. That = best possible conditions for a swap. I'm pretty sure for the price of a 97 max you could get a pretty nice swapped 240. Just make sure you don't rush it.. search, make sure you know what you want, and get it right the first time around. Measure twice, cut once kind of thing.. or something..

You would definitely be able to swap a 240 for under 5 grand. You may not be able to buy one already swapped, but you could do the work yourself and haev the pride in knowing you did all the work on the car and have things how you personally like them that way also.
