Hi everyone,

I am looking into buying a 05 or 06 G35 coupe - but i don't know anyone who drives it so i thought this is a good place to ask.

I am planning to buy a used 05 or 06, and wondering if the vehicles are good- the quality and if it always breaksdown (like electrical system, etc.)

Should i worry about buying a used G35 or is this car very well built and i shouldn't worry about buying it and then having lots of problems?

Any comments and opinions would help me in deciding whether i should join this awesome g35 group!

Thanks!

Good build quality. Watch out for oil consumption issues with the 2005-2006 6 speed manuals. Make sure you have a warranty on the engine just in case 6yr/70K mile warranty for powertrain.

Other than that, you should be good to go. Can't go wrong.

03-04 have issues with brake dust, AC control board, stereo head deck, non-revup engine, and they also older interior design.

I have a 04 coupe and love it! Brakes are pretty cheap to fix, so not an issue imho. However, have had the driver seat motor and AC compressor replaced....under a Nissan backed extended warranty. So, I would definitely get an extended warranty!!! (window motor & seat motor issues)Personally, I would be very leary of any of the used MT coupes due to the oil consumption issue, unless it has extremely low mileage, documented service, and plenty of warranty left. Good luck!!!

I keep seeing there are oil consumption problems. That's like a HUGE issue with the 03-07? Like if everyone is having this issue or like 1/10 owners having this problem?

How will i know if the car has oil consumption issues when i go check out the car? Will Infinity dealership give me a list of history or if i can check this problem through infinity?

from what i have read here... only some people have this issue and it has resulted in them getting a new engine under warranty in some cases...

Cant go wrong with a 2005 and up G35

mines is at 63k and have only had the battery replaced and one warranty fix on fuel dampers, other than that just regular maintiance... and i do not baby this car at all

I think if you get one with power train warranty left AND have service records, you should be fine!

Welcome

It;s INFINITI btw..

I've had an 05 and 07 and never experienced an oil consumption problem.

I did the same thing. Came to this forum first. A lot of positive feedback. Ended up with my 06 Sport Coupe AT, NAV,Prem Pkg with only 4500 miles.I went with the 06 due to others exp. with brake issues on the 03-04's. Showroom condition for $27K. She now has 23K miles and the only issue for me was the little rattle noises in the dash and squeaky brakes. Local Infiniti dealer took care of that for free.

Fun to drive, classy sports car feel...you will have fun. Good Luck and Welcome.
