well it looks to be coming out of your turbo outlet coupler, which one, could be a boost leak, so tighten that up, but mainly it means your turbo seal is leaking into the compressor side, or your valve cover vent system to the turbo intake is leaking in WAY too much oil. i would go iwith turbo seal.

ok thanks, if it is the turbo seal what is involved with fixing it? and is it overly expensive?

just pull the turbo, take it to a local diesel mechanics shop, or a local shop(shop specializing in aftermarket stuff)

and have them rebuild it, a rebuild kit is cheap, under $100 then labor.

first, pull the turbo intake off, reach your hand inside to the sahft and grab it, and wiggle, to see if it has "shaft play" if it is excssive it seals/bearings, which is in the rebuild kit. its normal to have a tiny bit, but should NEVER touch the housing, blades and housing should not com incontact with eachother

As stated, that oil could be coming from the PCV system, or the oil seal on the turbo. The PCV system is the more likely cause.

Remove the intake from the turbo and see if it's very oily. If so, then you're getting a lot of blow by. This is usually caused by worn piston rings.

While you have the intake off, grab the nut on the compressor wheel and move it side-to-side. It should have some movement, but shouldn't contact the compressor housing.

Next move it in and out. There shouldn't be any play. If there is the turbo needs rebuilt, and the oil seals COULD be leaking.

The oil seal on the compressor side of a turbo RARELY fails, and most of the time when it does, the compressor blade will be contacting the housing.

My bet is poorly sealing rings. Do a leakdown/compression test and I'll bet the numbers are poor/low.

i had the engines compression tested about 2 months ago and the mechanic said all 4 cylinders were perfect... could he have made a mistake? or could te issue have arisen since then? also i will try what u said thanks again.
