Things I've noticed since I bought the Versa are:

1.) Only 1 Key (dealership claims they don't have another one) - Is my only solution to buy one off eBay then have it cut and programmed?

2.) Tow hook missing from jack tools - Is the only solution to buy another OEM one? Will a dealership give me one for a used vehicle?

3.) No cargo cover (which I believe should be in an 2008 SL?) - These seem over-priced for what they are. Think I'm just going to end up getting dark tint in the future

4.) Spare tire has next to no tread - Anyone know the size of this? I'd like to have a reliable spare.

5.) Small specks of red paint scattered on body (looks like they tried to remove some off the trunk with a knife) - Just used my thumbnail on the specks on the body and a window scraper on the ones on the glass. Not sure what to use on the rubber/plastic moldings.

Those are all the dealer's responsibility as well as the buyer's.

When I bought my 2007 SL all of those points (2 intellikeys, cargo cover, tow hook, spare inspection and obviously the exterior condition of the car) were all on West Covina Nissan's checklist that they go over with the buyer on every new car delivery. You didn't leave the lot until the buyer went over the checklist line by line with the dealer representative.

As a consumer, those items were on my list of questions and checklist as well.

Sounds like you were unprepared when you got your car.

Sucks it was used, you are pretty screwed I believe.

1. Yeah cheapest is ebay then get raped at dealer for setup/program.

2. Could ask the dealer, maybe they'll be nice and have an extra. Otherwise check junkyards or something (other vehicles may work), http://car-part.com

3. Check ebay prices maybe.

4. They don't have much tread to begin with. Size should be on the tire.

5. Some goo gone or something like that. "Oops" paint remover, degreaser, etc.

Even on a used car, the dealer should have a checklist covering what's missing from what comes with a new car.

If you bought it private party, buyer beware!

Well the problem is there's only 1 Nissan dealership near me and they're the worst people I've ever dealt with in my life. So I had the Ford dealership across the street from them take a car off their lot that I saw online. Ford knocked hundreds off dollars off of the Nissan dealership's price and I bought it off them.

Now anytime something is wrong I go to Ford and then we go across the street back to Nissan. Then Nissan pulls out the "There's nothing we can do" and "It doesn't come with that" cards.

Hell, one night I asked Nissan to pop the wire back into my gas door release switch and they said it'd require an appointment and the service specialists are only there M-F until 3pm. So I just waited until it was light out and did it myself.

There's another Nissan dealership about 45 mins from me, can I go to them or does it have to be from where the car was purchased?

We had a similar problem years ago with Ontario Nissan. My wife had an Altima that was leased through Santa Fe Springs Nissan. Santa Fe subsequently went out of business and she had all service done at Ontario. Long story short, when she got a flat she had to have it towed to Ontario off the freeway because there was no lug wrench. Ontario refused to do anything about, even though we had become regular service customers, only giving us Nissan's 800 number. They wouldn't even call it for us.

I had them put on the spare and we took it to Discount Tire, where they gave us a Gorilla lug wrench at no charge with the purchase of our new tires.

Since then we've had two more Nissans, purchased elsewhere, and we always take them by Ontario to show them the sales and service income they threw away for a $15 lug wrench.

Getting back to answering your question:

Any Nissan dealership can deal with factory warranty problems and repairs. I don't know if they'll deal with each other's dealer warranties on used cars. I think it depends on if they're underwriting the warranty through an insurance company.

Either way, I'm sure (for a price) they'll take care of all of it, maybe knocking off a few bucks in an attempt to keep you as a regular customer.
