so my grandma has a 87 nissan pick up with only 70,000 miles on it and she said shed sell it to me for $500 bucks!

im def going to get it as soon as i sell my Honda , it runs great i just put a new battery in it and it fired right up drove it around and its pretty peppy. i just dont like not havin power stearing.

the only things wrong with the truck is the dash is cracked up from the sun and that the paints faded pretty bad.

how much horsepower do these have? and top speed? i cant find any specs on them

and i got a set of toyota/chevy 6 lug 20in cruiser alloy rims will they fit the nissan bolt pattern and whats the biggest tire i could run on them rims? right now they got 275 kumos on them.

Welcome to NICO! Congrats on the low mileage, 70k is really low for an 87. Think you hate manual steering now wait till you throw a set of 20's on it.

Your best bet is to goto a wrecking yard and pick up the steering box with the pitman arm, lines, pulleys, pump and the brackets from another truck.

As far as cost I think it will depend on the guy selling it to you unless you goto a u-pull it where the prices are pre set.

They came stock with about 130-135 hp I had 91 with no power steering it sucked a bit ion a parking lot at low speeds but at 40 and above the feel is better than power steering to me. I mean come on it is a small truck, maybe it is me but when I was young and worked for a contractor we had a international dump truck with no power steering LOL now that sucked. I could still turn the wheel in my nissan with one hand in a parking lot speed mode.

Tighten the belt and make sure it is not dried out. They dry out and belts are cheap. For dash hit junkyards you can find them there. I have seen guys fill in cracks lay fiberglass and paint them smooth and hard. Not my thing but hey it would be different.

Not a bad looking 87. I don't care for the Donk thing but everyone is different. Just don't put on those Buick fender holes that everyone is buying from Pepboys and you'll be alright. The body looks decent on it for being so old.

These trucks can make 25mpg highway average if in good tune. They aren't the most powerful trucks so trying to spin 20s is a lot of work for them. MPGs will suffer but then again modding and MPGs never go hand in hand.

It's more like 103hp@4500/135lbft@2800, or somewhere close to that.
