A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Just looking for opinions here. Its a 2000 with 105k on it. Red, auto transmission, base model, no power windows or locks. Has A/C, not sure about the cruise. Im mostly asking because its a first year car, not sure about it. I've read about some problems with the early ones. Dont want screws falling into the engine... I know all cars have thier issues.

It will be my girlfriends car, it needs to be reliable. Its her first car, I just want something good for her that she likes. She drove a civic and likes the Sentra better.

The guy says there are stains in the back seats from kids. Hes asking 3500, I think he would take 3k cash, its been for sale for almost a month. I have not done a VIN check. Can any of your guys pull one for me>? We have not seen or driven it yet, looks nice on the outside from the pictures.

What do you think?

Even though the mileage is pretty low, I think the price is a little high, you could probably get an 02-04 for that price.

I'd try to talk it down (2500 or so), but the 1.8s are pretty bulletproof. No major issues except sporadic headgasket problems, and if it's at 105k, a premature HG failure would have already happened. The screws-falling-into-engine issue is on the 2.5s.

I don't currently have the ability to check VINs, but take a look around and you might be able to find someone who does.

checked the VIN, its a clean car. You really think 3k is on the high side? Thought it was a good price. We are looking at it tomorrow.

Thanks guys

The price seems about right, but you can always offer lower and meet in the middle.

If it was me I would try for 2500 if you got cash. Seems to be a base model to begin with. If its mechanically sound and he wants to sell, show that money. To me its not worth what he is asking and with the interior not sounding the greatest I wouldn't pay 3500. Then again that's just me.
