Several new pics in member's ride section...

http://www.nissaninfiniticlub....er=13

God, it's nice to have a day off, with no kids here, to just lay around and do nada.

Washed the Q, took some pics, watched some football, played on NICO, worked on some BRM auctions.... What a great day. :D

Nice ride, Hitman. Those wheels are nice. Is your car lowered with the Eibachs?

Super super clean, AZ! Did you repaint the car & have the lower painted body color or did you paint the lower bronze stuff without painting the whole car?

Nice

HD - 94-96 Q's did not come 2-tone as the 90-93's did, so there never was any "bronze stuff". Only paintwork I've had done is the front and rear bumper covers (rock chips in front and a mild mishap with a high curb in back).

Wes - I'll try to shoot the interior soon. Never got over to get the Huper Optik installed, as this job thing has precluded me spending a dime other than on routine maintenance - But it's coming soon.

I have the one long rear floor mat, as in all 95's.

I was quoted $250 to paint all the bronze on the bottom, I cant stand it, AZ your car looks sweet, I strive for mine to look as good, once I lower mine and repaint the bottom we can take pics together:D found the springs for $265 and shocks were $284, all courtesy of Ebay.

No offense to 90-93 owners (like myself) but I could also do without the "Redneck Belt Buckle" on the hood, too. I've been casually looking for a 95, black, white, or charcoal.

I could still sell mine for market value for what I have in it (in it's condition since I bought it really cheap.) It'll take a couple of years to get used to the design of the nose.

Thanks for the kind words, gentlemen.

John - After the vandalism, I took great pains to find a shop that could remove all traces of the black paint without damaging the underlying 3-stage Infiniti original paint. It cost me a buttload of $$$, but the guys did a fantastic job. The only evidence remains on my garage floor, which I'll be taking care of soon with an epoxy paint.

They also indicated that the 3 coats of Zaino I had applied a month earlier probably saved me from a full repaint.[/shameless plug]

I really wish my digicam could capture the TRUE looks of this car - The pictures never seem to do it justice... Kind of a "fish eye" effect, and the colors just don'r POP like they do in person.

Actually I had the Huper Optik put on last Tuesday. I'll post pics when it's warm enough to get the car cleaned up. I like the look of it so far, but it takes forever for it to dry! I still have ghosting and streaks a week later. The warranty mentions that it can take 6-10 weeks for it to dry completely!! The installer said it's a much thicker material than other tints. I decided to get the ceramic 30 vs. a metalized tint to keep the V1 as sharp as possible.

FYI - anyone within driving distance of Myrtle Beach - Coastal Tinting did a great job and hooked me up with an "off season" deal of $300. Matt and Larry are great installers too... Well worth my 4.5 hours of driving last week.

Well, I might be able to help you out with that. With a little technique, you can take pictures with a cheap camera. You don’t like that fish eye effect, get your camera out of wide angle and go more to telephoto. Then just step back from the car to fit the whole subject in the frame. Something else that’s nice is if your camera has the option to choose the f stop, then you choose something like a f2.8 or f4 in telephoto. What happens here is you get your car in focus, and the background out of focus. This makes for some nice separation and the car pops out. That’s when the digital SLR comes in handy because you can put the camera in aperture priority mode, choose a wide open f stop, and the camera will automatically choose a faster shutter speed to compensate for the extra light in the exposure. The next thing you can do is not shooting in harsh sunlight. No camera, not even the most pro models can compensate for that. That's why you get washed out whites and black shadows. Shoot some place where the light is more even. One last tip is not to shoot all your pictures standing up strait. When I went to The Art Institute of Philadelphia, one of my classmate was a midget, and he would shoot some of the most interesting pictures because they were from perspectives that you where not use to seeing. So crouch down, or get on a ladder. Try some of these tips and you’re sure to improve your pictures 10 fold.

Bah, too much work.

I'll just wait until EVERY NICO member has occasion to roll thru Phoenix, take them to lunch, and show it off in person.

Let's see: Brian, Anananananand, satchmo12345 (and his Pops)... That makes 4. Only 11,457 to go!!! :D

Ooops - Sorry. Forgot to reply to that.

Not swapped. If you haven't gethered by now, I'm not a "swap" fan, especially in newer cars. I bought it in 95 (6 months old). Was an Si model (125hp SOHC), and had a good friend who worked for King Motorsports (US distributor of Mugen). He hooked me up with a ECU, TB, header, exhaust and some other nifty bits.

Car was the ONLY one of its kind in America in that color - Reason? It was originally destined for the Canadian market, and was specially ordered by the owner of Bell Acura (who is a friend of mine) for his son. It was FACTORY painted in an Acura color. All other Si's were red, black or white.

It was a fun and relaible car, and I kept it like I keep all my cars - perfectly maintained and spotless.

Search for "huper drei", made by Huper Optik.

THE best tint on the market - Far from cheap, but it's well worth it.

I actually had an offer to get the Drei for the same price as the Ceramic 30 ($300) but opted to stick with the Ceramic since it wouldn't interefere with the V1 and Cell phone (begin flame war from the anti-cell crowd now). I think the solar rejection was about 10% greater with the Drei but the Ceramic is supposed to be superior to the other films on the market.

Here's the site.

Phat-AZ ride hitman! I like the rims and the Phatter rubber in the back, gives the ride a nice profile.
