I was driving on the freeway when I suddenly lost power to my '91 TT 300ZX. I pulled over and the car died as I came to a stop. Popped the hood and there was a little smoke coming from underneath the car. I look under the car and there is oil all over the front, driver's side near the intercooler as well as everything behind it. I pull the engine oil dipstick and it's bone dry, all oil leaked out. I had it towed home and because of where the oil was at (not around the engine itself) I'm thinking something happened in the turbo. I remove the intake hose on the driver's side and there is a bit of oil sitting there. I started to take everything apart to get the turbo out with the engine still in the car because I do not have the space for an engine hoist. I have everything out of the way, but I'm hung up on trying to get the exhaust manifold cover off and I know the exhaust manifold itself is going to be even worse, so I'm going to hire someone to finish getting the turbo out for me.

I basically have 2 questions at this point. Should I just have the engine pulled and replace both CHRAs now or do you think the passenger side will be fine for a while? This is a 2+2 with a turbo swap, so I don't remember the exact mileage on the engine, but I believe it's now around 100k (the chassis has 132k).

Second, should I use a rebuilt CHRA like the one listed here..

or cough up the extra cash for a new one?

It would be nice to just spend $250 (or $500 for both) for a rebuilt if it's going to last, but if it is worth it in the long run, I will spend the $412 (or $824 for both).

Thanks for any help/advice. Oh, and any suggestions on someone to do this in the Sacramento, CA area?

You could go rebuilt, and have to pull the motor after only 250 miles like I did... So def new, and +1 on doing both. You won't regret it. Conceptzperformance has the best price on oem chras.
