Im looking into getting a shifter, dont know which i should go with..either the stillen or b&M..any suggestions?? thanks

What ever you decide on let us know how it works. Id like to install one aswell. Document the install as best you can. Cheers!

i have a B&M and love it. install was simple required a little fileing but nothing serious

Didn't you recently break your shifter?? Or am I thinking of someone else??

Do you guys really think a manual G needs a short shift???I think mine ('06) is pretty damn nice as it is.

Making it MUCH shorter would almost make it hard to drive. Making it "a little" shorter might be fine but I ask why bother?

just ordered a stillen shifter, ill let u guys know how the install came along and how the shifting changed if any

I wonder if it is necessary also. I put one in my BMW 528 but it had a longer shifter. The one in the G seems fine.

+1 My mom's 528i is like driving my dad's 4-speed dump truck. The throw is ridiculous compared to my G35.

Nope wasnt me.

And to the others, i agree that the 6mt shifts are pretty short from the factory and after i installed my short shifter i thought it was going to be too short and may have to swap it back but after awhile of just driving it and getting used to it i would never go back. the shifts are solid and precise and short. with a flick of the wrist you can change gears and i love it
