Short Throw Shifter Help

Hello out there. I recently purchased my 1st car. (97 Maxima Se 5 spd) And I was looking into installing a short throw shifter and I realized I have no idea how to take the dash apart to put it in. So can anyone tell me like screw or latch locations to take out the shift boot and the old shifter so I can put my new one in?

welcom to nico. first you going to need the car preaty high off the ground for you to go under it. then take off the cat and heat shield off then dissconnected the shifter linkeges, then you have to take off the sift knob then just pull the plastic that is connected to the boot up and take the lighter out. then if i remember right you can just slide the old shifter out from the bottom. its been awhile so i my have miss somthing. sorry.
