well me and dave decided to do the short (short!!) ram intake to my car that was shown on 240sx.org. lets just say it was not the best of our ideas. it came out very ghetto. i am going to go out and spend a few extra bucks to make it look a lil more presentable.

Also i wouldnt recommend doing it using their step by step. kinda skiped telling you a few things, such as the vac pump. Also it didnt take 2hours as they said it would... try alot longer then that. There was some extra cutting to do.

but for the best part it isnt all that bad. it sounds cool, worth all the work if you realize you are going to give up on the instructions and just do it on your own. We are goign to build a cold air extention and drop it strait behind the lil air vents where the washer fluid was.

anyways dave (s86d on nico) helped me out ALOT.. he practically did it all, i did learn some new things though, thanks much dave.

anyways, here is a few pix of the outcome.

here is the batt. relocatedyes its a mess with the wires, i am going to clean that up later, it was getting late and we wanted to just finish asap.

here is a pic of where the filter sits as of now.

and here it is again at a different angle

when its all complete with the cold air finished and cleaned up i will post more pix for ya guys.

but as you can see, dave and I reduced the air flow piping about 2 1/2 feet.

Where did you get the pipings? It looks shiny and doesn't seem to rust anytime at all. I'm thinking about making the damn turbo intake pipe since no one sells it except for when you buy the new turbo kit.

hahaha this is home depot sh1t guys...

"what did you use to connect the pipes together, and where did you get them?"

me and dave cut the rubber from the stock intake that was connected to the throttlebody... cut it in half you can use both ends. or if you dont wanna be that cheap you can goto Discount Auto and pick up throttlebody intake adapter rubbers. (make sure they are extra ribbed for her pleasure)

hehehehe

"any difference in performance?"

acutually i have noticed alot better throttle responce, and for some reason when me and dave did a lil race he usally walks me from the start, but i kept with him for a lil bit then he slowly started pulling.

ill keep ya guys updated on the cheap a55 project :D

I am planning on cutting up my S13 ebay intake and making the cold air extention within the week. the filter will then be wheer the window washer fluid box was. We removed it seeing it never worked anyways. we already have the hole cut and you can see the hole if you look at the third pic (its at the end of the red filter

also... i was lucky and had a MAFS adaptor.. the lil metal thing so a cone filter can go on it... if you dont have them you can get one off ebay or i know discount auto zone carries them now.

The one that went to the airbox? If the filter is in the right place then just leave it there. It will bring in more cold air.

And for the homedepot thing, they sell polished 3" pipe and couplings at home depot as well. So you can actually make a (real) looking CAI lol. Also if you do some searching through the ailes you can find the tin stuff to make a a heat sheild. I did this and it was all under 20 bucks(at home depot) I bought the MAFS adaptor at autozone for another ten.
