Before I launch into this I DID do a search but I still had a couple of questions left over.

I had (still have, selling, please BUY!) a WRX before my S14, and I had a short-shifter installed. Now, the WRX's transmission was pretty notchy before I installed the shifter, but afterwards it was damned near undrivable. I was wondering to what extent this happens with S14s. On the WRX the shortened throws were not worth the price of the notchiness (you physically COULD NOT downshift without use of the throttle, ever).

Also, the Nismo unit looks a great deal like the Mine's "Direct Shift", does anyone know if it is just the same unit rebadged?

Does anyone have experience with the Attain shifter?

Last but certainly not least - does anyone have an S14 with a short shifter installed in the DC area that I could just drive around a parking lot for a minute or so....not doing this with my WRX was a big mistake.

Thanks.
